We had a wonderful 3 days here at the Chinggis Tourist Camp. Everyone took wonderful care of us here and we enjoyed the horseback riding and beautiful scenery that your country has. “Excellent Ger Experience...Peaceful”
Very nice Ger, owners committed to comfort and friendly. We were picked up on time form the train and taken to the Chinggis Tourist Camp and the driver was careful (always a plus!) although they had to stop in Ulan Batar first for some errands and the traffic is horrendous so that added some time to getting out to the camp. That said, they were very nice about stopping at a store first for some supplies. The camp is located in a very nice area although it is a bit "touristy" so if you were looking for a genuine Mongolian nomadic experience this would not be it. But then again, I think this was a nice balance between comfort and the ger experience. They had an english speaking interpreter on site to help us and that was great. It was early in the season so we were the only ones there and they cooked us a traditional Khorkog meal on the first night (mutton, potatoes, cabbage and carrots) and the interpreter took us through the warming stones ritual before we ate and it was a nice touch. The camp is built on the side of a hill and you can climb down the valley on the back side to the river and it is breathtakingly beautiful. The bathroom was a bit far away for me as i had a touch of travellers revenge but then again, it is a ger right? They were very nice and friendly and from the ger you can watch the herders and horsemen and a yak gave birth on the morning we were there. Neat. The ger itself is very nice and we felt recharged when we left. Nice woodstove and they gave us all the wood we needed. Nice milk sharing ritual as we left. Overall, i would definitely recommend. -We had an awesome stay in this Chinggis Tourist Camp and enjoyed ourselves a lot. The landscape is beatiful and the horseriding was good fun. Unfortunately we only had one night and we really want to return one day. Staff is great and food is delicious. Thank a lot. Thomas & Petra, Vienna, Austria.

-Thank you so much for the warm and great organization!. We did enjoy our stay here very much, and were touched by the kindness of the people of the Chinggis Tourist Camp. It was a great opportunity to create some special bonding with tourists as well as locals. We will always remember the landscape, the gers, the starry nights and above all, the smiles of the people here. We hope to come back to see you guys again. -We're on our way from London to Beijing by train. This Chinggis Tourist Camp was a welcome rest from the trains!. The horse riding up + over the mountain was lovely, we have certainly been well fed and the English speaking guide of Samar Magic Tours has been a great host. I particularly enjoyed beating him at the krucklebone catching game!. Thank you very much!. Khara+Helen (Bristol+London,U.K.)
